In 2009 a missionary from China came and shared her story with a group of ladies at a church in New Orleans.  We listened to her stories about the women in the brothels and were burdened for them.  We asked the missionary if they could come help her with her work, and she simply told us, “Don’t come to my city until you’ve done something in your own.”  Inspired by these words, we realized that we didn’t need to go all the way to China to help women in the sex industry.  We were only a few miles from Bourbon Street and the women there needed to hear about the love and freedom of Christ just as much as the women in the brothels of China.  So we began to pray.  We were burdened so we prayed and asked God to show us what to do.  And so Inward was born.
